Welcome to my website. You are of course interested in learning more about Costanze, and perhaps, in all due modesty, a bit about me.

You may wonder what on earth makes a writer open a website when you can simply read her books. Fair enough. But I feel that in this way I can get into closer touch with my readers, find out precisely what you yourself think of my writing, because learning to write is a never-ending process (Click on BIRCHING AND PRAISE).
But above all I shall be able to answer the questions you may have posed yourself either before or while reading the book. Having clicked on CONSTANZE MOZART, then click on QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS and thereafter on my e-mail, and I shall reply as soon as at all possible.
You may have concrete questions about the characters in the book, about the customs depicted, about the morals and religious issues of the time especially when women were concerned, or about Constanze´s personal role as a woman.
Or you may perhaps have questions about the different historical periods she experienced during her long life: the playful and inquisitive Rococo, however harsh it might have been; the Napoleonic wars in all their horror as they affected Vienna; and the tight-lipped, bourgeois Biedermeier described by Otto Rung as "a snob, a sleaze and a prude", whom Constanze meets in Copenhagen. Maybe you would like to know more about Constanze´s second husband, the Danish Georg Nikolaus Nissen, about Copenhagen from 1810-19 when Constanze lived inside its constricting ramparts, about Kamma Rahbek out in Bakkehuset, or maybe you are merely curious about fact and fiction, as to why fiction is sometimes more real than facts, etc.
